The city of Crescent City is located in the very northern sections of California. It is the only incorporated city found in Del Norte County and the city itself is just twenty miles from the Oregon border. The name of the city comes from the crescent-shaped beach that is found in the southern portion of the city. The city itself does not have a very large population with just about 7,600 people in residence here. The area has various sources of income, including a state prison, the Redwood National Park and Crescent City Harbor, which houses a number of fishing vessels.
Crescent City is unique among California cities in that it is so far north and does not have the typical California climate. This makes the area ideal for someone who enjoys a milder temperature and likes to spend time with nature.
